Holiday Ills

December 27th, 2006 by JrMint

Gack. Still sick. The whole family is sick, started about thursday. Its extra hard since its christmas and we have a house full of people. Christmas was fun, despite everyone feeling lousy and it certainly didn’t stop me from enjoying some 18 year old Scotch with my dad and brother. (ya, i paid for that the next day with my cold).

Ethan got an unbelievable load of stuff…almost too much. I think next year I’m going to tell relatives to only by him one thing each. He was happy but pretty overwhelmed.

Probably the biggest success of the weekend was the Wii (suprise). The kids play it for endless hours. My brothers kids were all sore the next day. The XBox got completely ignored all weekend, LOL.

At least I took the week off, so I can nurse this cold and help the kids through it. I only have one thing to do and thats to clean out our storage unit since I cancelled it for Dec 31st. Other then that I’m gonna sit on my ass…my relatives will have to entertain themselves.

Turned down a job opportunity in Seattle with F5. It looked pretty sweet, it was a hard decision. It paid good money but the cost of living in Seattle pretty much made it a wash…plus I don’t think we can afford a house anywhere up there, so that coupled with the move I just couldn’t do it. Was a nice position though, if it had been local or in PDX I would definitely have taken it.

I haven’t posted anymore chapters because I’m over-hauling it all a bit and giving it a definitive chapter order, thats helping me grow the story. So when thats done I’ll post the new version in the right chapter order.

I missed this the other day, not sure if you all caught it. Joseph Barbera died at age 95. Great he lived as long as he did. Being an avid animation nut, its good to point out that he and William Hanna pretty much paved the way for all modern animation. The two of them put out more then 100 cartoons series in 4 decades.

What the hell is wrong with Americans. Oh ya, 99% of them are stupid. That explains how this ridiculous class action lawsuit against Nintendo for people too stupid to hold on to their Wii controller exists. Oh okay, its because they are breaking the wrist strap. How in gods name do you do that. I mean I use mine and play with full range of motion and go all out and not once have i ever let go of the remote let alone had any possible chance of breaking the wrist strap.

The Wii should come with a warning on the box in huge red bold letters that says: “Warning: Not for STUPID people”….only problem there is that they wouldn’t sell more then about 1,000 units. That accounts for the non-stupid people in this country.

This is hilarious if you’ve seen the new Wii Weather Channel:
