June du Jour
June 20th, 2008 by JrMint200.2 today…sooo close to breaking the 200 barrier. Although my eating habits the last couple days have been messed up. Missing snacks/meals. I gotta get that shit straightened out before i get in some downward spiral of eating wrong. Hopefully i can correct that over the weekend and be back on track for Monday.
Had a nice chat with Xinu over at geekfit.com to go into one of their upcoming podcasts. Was fun, I like talking about what I’ve done so far in hopes maybe someone will find it useful. Its kinda like kid raising. Its different for everyone, but great to inhale lots of other advise to build your own methods that work for you. Hopefully i can do a regular couple minute dial in to the podcast with my progress moving forward.
Well the fun is over. My 2 year old girl finally decided it was okay to climb out of her crib tonight. 3 times so far. *sigh* It was so great it lasted so long. Now the multi-month battle of getting her to sleep in a normal bed and not keep getting up. I remember that with my son, mucho frustrato! She’s growing up so damn fast.
Ramping up this weekend to hammer out the sprinkler system extension into my front yard. Gotta rebuild the lower manifold and put in a new backflow prevention valve system. The upper (backyard) manifold is shut down right now since its disconnected at the part for the new add-in…which of course means the grass is dying in the backyard due to the heat setting in this week (of course!). I’ll put some pictures up shortly. We are re-landscaping the whole front and side yard in the process. $250 worth of sprinkler system parts later, I’m ready to get started in the morning. House painting is complete, and the place looks fabulous. So if I can get the landscaping down, i can move on to fence replacement and hopefully be done with the outside house work.
Of course then i’ve got tons of interior projects! It never ends, at least i enjoy a majority of it. And I gotta admit, losing 20 pounds recently and working out has made the physical portion of it all (shoveling, hauling and moving dirt around) much easier and less painful.
Well enough boring life stuff, watch the blog shortly for another technical review posting. I’ve got several new things i’m messing with I’d like to bitch about.
For you musician folks check out the post over at Grim Notions about Phrygian Scales…crazy stuff. Joe Satriani is an amazing musician, not just for his guitar work but for his knowledge of music theory in general.

You’re kicking ass on the fitness routine! That’s awesome!
I love those kinds of project like the sprinkler system. Puttering around with stuff like that is one of the things I miss a lot being over here. I’m sure there’s a million projects waiting for me though.
